This plate is made of Czech porcelain and is dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer safe. Works great as a charger for the deep rimmed pasta bowls and adds class to any kitchen! Text on the plate reads: "‘Callinectes sapidus’  Blue crabs range from Nova Scotia to Argentina.  The scientific name means ‘beautiful swimmer that is savory.’  Males have blue tip claws, females red tips with a wider abdomen (‘apron’) to hold up to 8 million eggs." This plate is 12 inches in diameter.
